I was born in Kladno, medium size town in the vicinity of Prague in Czech Republic.

I have started my undergraduate studies at Czech Technical University in Prague in 1998. In 2004 I have obtained Engineer degree at the department of electromagnetic field. In the same year I have started my doctoral studies at the same university and department. The topic of my doctoral thesis was „New Bulky Metamaterial Structures and Their Applications in Microwave Technology“. The doctoral thesis was successfully defended in 2006. Between the years 2007 and 2009 I have been contracted as post-doc researcher in the Microwave group at the department of electronics and electromagnetism in the University of Seville (Spain). At the present moment I am also post-doc researcher in the group of Jan Macháč at Czech Technical University.

From 2000 I am also member of National Reference Laboratory for Non-Ionizing Radiation.

Scientific interests

My current scientific work is aimed at magnetic metamaterials, their homogenization and applications.
